The above mentioned Mat Fraser has contributed to this improvement - the front part of the boots has been widened, as the foot fingers naturally spreads when lifting weights, doing squats or other exercises. The upper part of the shoe is covered with a rubber hexagon pattern. In areas that are most worn, hexagons have an additional filler that ensures durability. This solution will also help in climbing the rope. Nike focused on Nike Metcon 5-shoe testing for over 9,000 hours, with athletes such as Mat Fraser and Lauren Fisher pushing the maximum boundaries with these shoes. “I really didn’t think there was much to improve from the Metcon 4. As soon as I got the 5, it became my new favorite,” – Fraser said.
